My Final Post

I have chosen Dino Lalli, Producer of Integris Discover Oklahoma, as the person who has the kind of job I aspire to have myself one day. In his life he has worked in many different areas of the television industry, from a stint in news broadcasting to his first major job as a television personality for a film critique show. Later he made the move behind the scenes including working as a field representative for the Oklahoma Film and Music Office, a branch of the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department. Mr. Lalli moved within the department to work as the Integris Discover Oklahoma's producer a year and a half ago.

Oklahoma Sports Hit the Spot

From the diamond to the turf and the court to the track Oklahoma sports' terrains are the popular place to put your feet. The first thing that comes to most Oklahomans' minds is The Oklahoma City Thunder. The NBA team made its home in OKC in 2008 and after a shaky start in their first year, developed a strong team for this season. The Thunder share downtown OKC with another sports team, the Oklahoma City RedHawks. This minor league baseball team makes for a fun night out in OKC where you can enjoy Bricktown just across the street after a great ball game. Oklahoma doesn't play home field to one minor league team but two. The Tulsa Drillers just finished a brand new stadium in the Greenwood district of downtown Tulsa that gives you the feel of a major league park right here in Oklahoma. And speaking of a major league feel in Tulsa, the WNBA announced earlier this year the Shock will be calling Tulsa home next season and University of Oklahoma superstar forward Amanda Thompson is slated to join the team.
This brings us to Oklahoma's oldest sports legacy, collegiate athletics. The Sooners sport seventeen varsity sports including high ranked teams in football, men's and women's basketball and men's and women's gymnastics. And at one point or another the Sooners come head to head against the Oklahoma State University Cowboys in a bedlam blowout game. OSU has eighteen varsity sports played by its Cowboys and Cowgirls. Whatever sports you come to cheer on you can always expect to find an enthusiastic crowd. Oklahomans are some of the most loyal fans and most people can see why. While the games are the main draw, watching Rumble the Bison play his drums and Boomer and Sooner rappel to the court from the raptors adds to the excitement and screaming out OU's chant or singing "Take Out to the Ball Game" makes you feel like you're part of the team.

Route 66

Route 66 flows through the country from Chicago to California. In it's day it was THE way to drive cross country. Hotels and roadside attractions began to pop up all along its winding path but with the boom of super highways cutting across its path, less and less people cruise the motherroad.
